Archive: Old Greg's Barley Wine
Old Greg's Barley Wine was originally a homebrew recipe from Greg Hobbs, our co-founder and our original Head Brewer at Five Points. Brewed on New Year's Eve each year, Old Greg's Barley Wine was made with exclusively English hops that varied each year.
Each vintage was bottle-aged for a year before making its way onto shelves, and each brew was a slightly different recipe, some with more apricot and marmalade notes, while others featured more honeycomb and berry flavours. Each iteration went incredibly well with food, particularly different cheeses.
Our last brew of Old Greg's Barley Wine was brewed on the 31st of December, 2018, and we're currently taking a break from brewing this beer annually.
VEGAN-FRIENDLY
As of spring 2023, all of our beer across all formats, including cask, is suitable for vegans to enjoy in their favourite pub and bar.
Our beer remains unfiltered and unpasteurised for a superior flavour and aroma.
