The Five Points Brewing Company is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Bar Manager to join us at our Taproom & Courtyard venue in the heart of Hackney, East London.
The Company
The Five Points Brewing Company is an independent craft brewery in Hackney selling over 2 million pints annually. Our Taproom & Courtyard venue showcases our own range of award-winning craft beers alongside independent food traders, and a range of cocktails & natural wines.
Responsibilities
As a Bar Manager, you will ensure the effective running of the venue, working closely with the General Manager and covering all duties in their absence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as Duty Manager and key-holder
- Overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the venue and bars
- Managing private hire events and functions, liaising with clients for smooth execution
- Maintaining venue condition, identifying and addressing breakages/malfunctions
- Assisting with staff rota management to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Participating in the recruitment and training of bar staff
- Supporting line management, including handling disciplinary matters
- Ensuring timely ordering and effective stock control
- Managing legal and licensing compliance for drinks sales, times, weights & measures
- Overseeing Health & Safety issues, including fire safety, food hygiene, and first aid
- Liaising with police, council, environmental health, and other local agencies
- Accurate cashing up, recording figures, and reporting
Person Specification
- Hands-on, reliable, and hardworking with excellent time-keeping
- Able to show initiative, be flexible, and work independently
- Enthusiastic and personable, with an interest in craft beer, independent drinks, and food
- Proven record of previous management responsibilities in hospitality
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- The right to live and work in the UK without restriction.
- Ability to speak, read and write fluent English
