From the Ashes and The Five Points Brewing Company are launching monthly butchery masterclasses and brewery tours at The Five Points Courtyard. These all-new workshops will invite BBQ enthusiasts and novices alike to hone the skills needed to expertly butcher and barbecue, with each class finished with a feast and Five Points beer.
Recognised for their butchery expertise and in using whole animals sourced directly from UK farmers, the first masterclass will focus on steak butchery - including a demonstration from Curtis and Martin on breaking a beef roasting joint down into steaks, while talking through premium cuts for different occasions.
The cattle used in the steak butchery masterclass will be sourced from Charles Ashbridge. The cattle were reared near the top of Sutton Bank in the North Yorks Moors National Park, and you can read more about where the meat was sourced here.
Following the beef masterclass, subsequent sessions will focus on one animal at a time, including lamb and pork.
As part of the masterclasses, Five Points will guide guests through their Hackney-based brewery on a tour of our brewkit and how beer is brewed.
To conclude the workshop, a live fire feast consisting of a starter and a main course with sides will finish alongside a tasting selection of 3 x 1/2 pints of beer. The beef masterclass will feature a steak dinner, and different cuts of meat will be showcased for class attendees to taste and compare.

Attendees will enjoy a welcome drink of Five Points beer, a butchery demonstration led by From The Ashes, a tour of The Five Points brewery, and dinner accompanied by a selection of three 1/2 pints of Five Points' brews. Further drinks will be available for purchase from the bar.
Dates for these experiences are:
- Thursday, 15 August for Beef
- Thursday, 12 September for Pork
- Thursday, 24 October for Lamb
- Thursday, 21 November for Beef
This event will start at 6:30pm, with attendees expected to be seated for dinner at 8pm, and the event to conclude at 9:30pm, with guests welcome to stay to enjoy the rest of their evening at The Five Points Courtyard.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all participants, we ask that all event attendees read and agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
- For health and safety reasons, we can only allow attendees who are 18 years or older to take part in events and tours.
- As we are a working brewery, we cannot allow open-toed shoes or sandals on our brew floor. Please wear comfortable, covered footwear.
- Any pets are not allowed on the brewery floor, but they are welcome to wait with someone in your party in our Taproom or Courtyard.
- We reserve the right to refuse service to participants that are intoxicated or displaying anti-social behaviour.
- Should you require special accommodation or access, please contact us at events@fivepointsbrewing.co.uk. This includes any dietary restrictions (e.g. gluten intolerances).
- Please do not attend any event at The Five Points should you feel unwell. Contact us at our events e-mail above and we can rearrange the booking.
- For our Experience Events with From The Ashes, full refunds can be made no later than 3 days before the start of the event. Due to the nature of the event and the lead time with suppliers, we are unable to refund tickets within 3 days of the event.
- All experiences will start promptly on the time indicated.
