International Women's Collaboration Brew Day 2025
Feb 13, 2025
On what has become an annual tradition for Five Points, we have just brewed our 2025 International Women’s Day beer. This West Coast-take of our XPA will be raising funds for Women for Refugee Women, a charity that works to support and empower refugee women and campaigns for a fairer asylum system.
The collaboration brew day was attended by women from several industry-leading companies and organisations, including the Brewers Association, We Are Beer, Deya Brewery, and other local venues. Attendees heard from Shift Lead Brewers Alana and Laura, who talked us through the process of brewing and varieties of hops used in the IWD brew.
Guests also had a chance to hear from Laura Emson, one of Five Points’ brewery tour guides and CAMRA Core Leader, as she discussed the importance of representation in CAMRA for women.
The beer will be called Every Woman Welcome, a play on the campaign Welcome Every Woman, which concentrates on understanding that “Every woman who has been forced to cross borders for her safety deserves a fair hearing and a chance to rebuild her life.”
This West Coast-take on our much-loved Extra Pale Ale (XPA) will be naturally gluten free, and will be ready in time for International Women’s Day, taking place on Saturday, 8th March. We will have kegs available for trade customers and there will be a limited number of bottles available on our webshop.
Please look out for the upcoming events we have here at the brewery, with our Ladies in Trade exclusive evening on the 3rd March, Every Woman Welcome’s full launch on 6th March and live performances from women and non-binary artists on 7th March!
The Five Points Brewing Company will donate £10 for each 30L keg we sell, and £3.50 for each case of bottles of Every Woman Welcome once we have launched to trade and the webshop. Find out more about how you can support Women for Refugee Women and their work in giving a better, safer life for every refugee woman in the UK.
